Japadog

Japadog is a hotdog stand in Vancouver that serves hotdogs and sausages with Japanese toppings. Ice Cube liked it so much he ate there ten times. We had an Oroshi, a bratwurst with grated raddish, "special soy" and green onion, and an Okonomi, a kurobuta pork sausage with okonomi sauce, Japanese mayonnaise, fried cabbage, and dried bonito flakes.

I have heard of all the famous people listed on the Japadog sign, except for "Ootsuki Proffesor". Who is he?

Seaplanes

From top to bottom:

A deHavilland Beaver DHC-2 in West Coast Air livery, a deHavilland Otter DHC-3 in Kenmore Air yellow and white livery, and our blue and yellow Kenmore Air Otter docked in Victoria, BC. I rode in the co-pilot's seat, where I was told not to touch anything.

Thorstein Veblen

Thorstein Veblen
was our tour guide to the early history of the University of Chicago last weekend.

Jay didn't work up the nerve to ask him about the arguments in "A Plea for Cannibals" or "Apology for a Toper".

Blue Bike, Mk I

First test set-up on my bike from Tati.

This is the speedy configuration. Possible modifications: paint front rack same color as frame, match the color of the seat and the cork handles, replace black parts with silver ones, replace white chain with silver chain.

Glass House vs. Farnsworth House

The Farnsworth house is more beautiful, but the Glass House's central fireplace/bathroom cylinder is a more inspired solution to the plumbing problem. And the kitchen area in the Glass House doesn't block the view through the house, which is a major advantage.
