Metaphysical Graffiti

Someone else already had a post about these wall-based index entries, but I saw one in Eckhart the other day I thought worth posting.

The title of the post comes from Jay.

Have you been able to find out who is responsible for the metaphysical graffiti? The more I think about it, the more I like it. Granted, I don't have to see it everyday. But I have seen it a bunch of times and haven't tired of it at all.

I saw a display, somewhere in Swift, about the graffiti. I think it is some kind of institutionally sanctioned art installation, which I think slightly reduces its interest. But the interest is increased by the fact that the person responsible (if I'm remembering correctly) chose the index entries from works by Dewey and other Chicago intellectuals.

I assumed the index entries were made up. That they're not makes it really, really interesting.

Since I'm named as the source of the name, I should disclose that I took the name from the name of an album by the Dead Milkmen.
