What modern air travel looks like. I had an aisle seat on this flight and the woman with the window closed the shade. I can't understand why someone would do that. The view you get from the plane at cruising altitude is beautiful and mesmerizing. With the shade closed, you might as well be on a bus.

I find this photo really, really creepy & nightmarish--I'm not sure if it suggests impending disaster or if the scene itself already looks disastrous.
I get uneasy looking at it, too--but I think it's because I took it real fast, so it's tilted in such a way that the plane looks like it's lurching to the side or something.
Or it might just be that you never really get a good, long look at the interior of an airliner.
